NORTH SHORE BUS STOPS GO PREPAY
Tuesday 3 February 2009
Minister for Transport David Campbell today announced that three bus stops at Cremorne Junction and Neutral Bay Junction will be converted to PrePay-only during weekday morning peak hours.
Mr Campbell said the stops will be cashless Monday to Friday from 7am to 10am starting from 16 February 2009.
"This is about providing commuters with a faster, cheaper, and more convenient bus service," Mr Campbell said.
"The conversion of the bus stops at Cremorne and Neutral Bay Junctions for city-bound services will assist commuters with faster boarding times and improved reliability of services."
Mr Campbell said the bus stops are located at:
- Spofforth Street near Military Road, Cremorne Junction
- Military Road outside the Metropole Shopping Centre, Cremorne Junction
- Military Road near Wycombe Road, Neutral Bay Junction
"These three bus stops join seven other PrePay-only bus stops located at Epping Station; Druitt St in the city; Military Road near Watson Street at Neutral Bay; and the west side of Chatswood Interchange," Mr Campbell said.
"Further, all bus stops at Wynyard Park (York Street, Carrington Street and Clarence Street) will be converted to PrePay-only from 2 March 2009, the first step in all bus stops in the CBD going cashless by the end of the year.
"In addition to the 145 ticket outlets in the CBD and 900 across metropolitan Sydney, Cremorne Junction commuters can purchase their PrePay tickets from the newsagent at the Metropole Shopping Centre or the Scoop Food shop on Spofforth Street near Rangers Road.
"For Neutral Bay Junction passengers, there are seven ticket outlets close by, including the Wycombe Road Newsagency just metres from the bus stop."
