NEW ROAD NAMES A COLOSSAL WASTE OF MONEY

O'FARRELL SPENDS BIG ON SIGNS - AS HE CUTS BILLIONS FROM SCHOOLS AND HOSPITALS

The O'Farrell Government is wasting $20 million renaming roads across the State - in a move that won't save motorists a single minute in travel time or improve road conditions and safety.

This colossal waste of money comes at the same time the O'Farrell Government is cutting $1.7 billion from the NSW education system and $3 billion from NSW hospitals.

"This is a complete waste of money and an insight into the O'Farrell Government's real priorities," Acting Shadow Roads Minister, Penny Sharpe said today.

Red Leather #100 | Special Edition | Available now

The 100th Edition of Red Leather was originally going to be a retrospective on the development of this little enews, a readers survey and a reflection on my last seven years in the parliament.

That was until the O'Farrell Government decided that cutting $1.7billion from the NSW Education budget was going to "make NSW 1 again".

The 100th edition of Red Leather is devoted to informing you about the cuts and asking all of you who care about education in NSW to join the campaign to stop these cuts.

O'FARRELL FAILS TO DELIVER LATE NIGHT TRAINS FROM KINGS CROSS

The O'Farrell Government's failure to introduce late night train services from Kings Cross means thousands of revellers will still be waiting around on the streets every Friday and   Saturday night causing trouble.

"While the NSW Opposition welcomes today's announcement, the Premier has missed a key piece in the puzzle to solving the problem of alcohol fuelled violence in Kings Cross," Opposition Leader John Robertson said today.

"This plan fails to include late night train services to move thousands of people out of Kings Cross quickly and safely on Friday and Saturday nights.

"A train could move 1,000 people out of Kings Cross, directly to Town Hall and Central, in under ten minutes.
