Red Leather #62 - now available

Parliament has now finished until 1 September. In the last week of parliament I introduced and debated on behalf of the government 18 pieces of legislation including:

• new regulations for Star City Casino,
• new rules about how school results are to be reported,
• reform to Freedom of Information Legislation, and
• changes to road transport regulation for trucks.

Since 1 July there are some excellent initiatives that have started:

• The new, fairer demerit points scheme for speeding offences
• The removal of the pensioner booking fee for CountryLink services and the $1 children's fare deal for CountryLink becoming a year round offer
• The NSW Housing Construction Acceleration Plan, which includes a 50 per cent stamp duty cut for people buying newly constructed properties worth up to $600,000

In the coming weeks I will be travelling around the state to talk to our regional transport coordinators and visiting my duty electorates. I am also organising a NSW Gov 2.0 gathering. It will be very similar to Kate Lundy's publicsphere event. More details about this soon.  If you are interested in helping to organise it let me know - we are going to need help.
