"The school formal is meant to be a formal dance between a young man and a young woman, not a young man and a young man,"

"We love all our [gay] students as we do all people in our churches but their lifestyle is not encouraged, particularly if it was a promiscuous lifestyle. We are dealing with young people here.

- Dr Laurie Scandrett, Chief Exeuctive of the Sydney Anglican School Corporation says no to marriage and to dancing for same sex couples

Fair go, Fairfax

Fair Go, Fairfax is campaigning for quality journalism to be maintained in the Fairfax stable of newspapers.

Show your support by signing the petition, joining the facebook group, or making a donation to the campaign.

Fair Go Fairfax is the official campaign site for working journalists and editorial staff at print publications and websites including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Sun-Herald, The Age/Sunday Age, The Australian Financial Review, Business Review Weekly, The Newcastle Herald, The Illawarra Mercury, smh.com.au, theage.com.au, WAToday.com.au, and Brisbanetimes.com.au.

Reporters, artists, photographers, graphic designers and sub-editors want to get on with the job of keeping Australians informed and up to date. However, negotiations for the renewal of the agreement covering more than 1500 journalists' pay and conditions have stalled, leaving their future uncertain.

Fairfax management is attempting to silence its journalists by pursuing an old-hat, anti-union agenda. Fairfax is one of the few big Australian corporations - along with Qantas and Telstra - hanging on to WorkChoices; laws overwhelmingly rejected by Australians at the last election.
