O'FARRELL MUST RULE OUT PRIVATISING COUNTRYLINK
REGIONS FACE FARE INCREASES AND SERVICE CUTS

The NSW Labor Opposition has today demanded the O'Farrell Stoner Government rule out privatising CountryLink rail services to fund other projects in Sydney as part of its cost cutting review of RailCorp.

The O'Farrell Stoner Government is considering a report by Infrastructure Partnerships Australia that recommends the immediate sell off CountryLink to the private sector as part of its cost cutting review of RailCorp.

LABOR OPPOSITION LAUNCHES PETITION TO SAVE STATIONS

The NSW Labor Opposition today launched a petition demanding the O'Farrell Government retain staff at 21 Hunter train stations facing staffing cuts – after it was revealed three of the stations in the firing line are ranked amongst the worst for crime across the State. 

"The O'Farrell Government's cost cutting review of RailCorp is threatening to remove staff from stations already struggling to deal with rising crime," Shadow Transport Minister, Penny Sharpe said today.

MINISTER MUST RULE OUT STATION STAFF CUTS

At least 95 stations risk losing their staff under the O'Farrell Government's cost cutting review of RailCorp – which will lead to unsafe stations and no special assistance for the disabled and elderly.

"The O'Farrell Government must rule out cuts to station staffing as part of the RailCorp review," Shadow Transport Minister, Penny Sharpe said today.
