REPLACEMENT NOWRA BRIDGE MUST BE BUILT TO TAKE TRAINS

Shadow Minister for Transport, Penny Sharpe and Labor Candidate for Gilmore, Neil Reilly today launched a petition to demand any replacement Shoalhaven River Bridge is built so that a future extension of the South Coast line to Nowra could become a reality.

“The replacement of the Nowra Bridge provides the South Coast community with an important transport opportunity - the ability to extend the rail line from Bomaderry through to Nowra and beyond,” Ms Sharpe said.

“The NSW Government has committed $1 million for a study to look at the best location for a replacement for the Nowra Bridge. This provides a rare opportunity to increase public transport on the South Coast and must be seized by the O’Farrell Government.

“Any planning for a replacement bridge must be designed so that the South Coast line could be extended in the future.

NO HOPE FOR UNFLUED HEATERS TO BE REPLACED IN BEGA & SOUTH COAST SCHOOLS
