Final Farewells

This week we heard the farewell speeches given by members who were retiring. In the Upper House these included: Jan Burnswoods, Peter Breen, Peter Wong, David Oldfield and Jon Jenkins.

Congratulations on 200 editions of lotl

Tonight in Sydney there will be a party held to celebrate the 200th edition of lotl. It is rare to see such longevity in an independently owned and operated magazine.

Lotl stands for lesbians on the loose. For 16 years lotl has been an important information source, discussion space and community lifeline for lesbians in Sydney and beyond.

Congratulations on the first 200 editions. I look forward to the next 200.

Ripper of a speech about John Curtin

The Labor Party does history well. We write about it, we talk about it, we argue about it, we celebrate it. I want to share with you a speech that Senator John Faulkner made this week in Western Australia for the John Curtin Memorial Lecture called John Curtin: A Labor Life.
